You can be a hero

Bullying is so much more than a big kid pushing a smaller kid around.  Here are some comments my sixth graders have made about bullying they've seen or experienced.

I was bullied when got hit in the face.

I was bullied because I did not know how to type.

I bullied someone by sitting on them.

I got bullied for being friends with someone.

I have been called four eyes.

I bullied a girl when she talked about my mom. So I smacked her.

Someone knocked books off a girl’s desk just to be funny.

One time I saw a boy say 'you smell and your clothes are gross'. So I went to tell the girl that it’s okay. And she was better for the rest of the day knowing she had somebody to talk to.
